Charitable Contribution

 

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD) ("SEC"), on November 29, 2024, announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the following contribution:

 

1. Contribution to Community Chest of Korea's annual fundraising campaign for 2025

-     SEC will contribute KRW 8.53 billion to the Heemang 2025 Nanum Campaign of Community Chest of Korea, a social welfare corporation, to help the underprivileged as a part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility.

 

2. Contribution to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

-     As a part of its partnership with the UNDP and to support the United Nations's effort to achieve The Global Goals*, SEC will make a charitable contribution sourced from the Samsung Global Goals application, our user-participation sustainability platform, and the matching fund.

* A set of 17 goals adopted at the UN General Assembly in September 2015 to achieve a sustainable future for all.

USD 2,939,972 (approximately KRW 4.11 billion)

Other information

- During each year of the partnership, the contribution amount was calculated based on the proceeds from the twelve-month period from November 1 through October 31 of subsequent year. The timing of the contribution is subject to change pursuant to consultation with the partner.

- This year's contribution consists of the proceeds from Samsung Global Goals application between November 1, 2023-October 31, 2024, and SEC's contribution.
