Passing of Lord Renwick of Clifton
It is with enormous sadness that Kropz plc (AIM: KRPZ) an emerging African phosphate producer, advises the passing of the Company's chair, distinguished diplomat and businessman, Lord Renwick of Clifton.
Lord Renwick led the Company since Kropz's IPO in 2018. He was an unwavering supporter of the Company, and his tenure on the board was marked by steadfast leadership, underpinned by an acute intelligence and extraordinarily sharply honed negotiation skills.
Prior to joining the Kropz board, Lord Renwick held a number of senior positions while serving in the British foreign office, including in Senegal, India and in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia at the time). He was ambassador to South Africa from 1987 to 1991, a challenging period in the country's history. This was followed by an ambassadorial posting to Washington DC where he remained until 1995.
Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones as they mourn his passing. He touched many people all over the world, and he will be sorely missed on a number of continents. For us at Kropz in particular, his impact will be lasting, and his unique engagement style, both broad-ranging and inclusive, was an invaluable asset.
The board have appointed Linda Beal, non-executive director of the Company, as interim Chair.
