African Battery Metals makes further progress on restart at Kisinka
Battery metal exploration and development company African Battery Metals updated the market on exploration activities at its Kisinka Copper-Cobalt project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Thursday, following the restart of activities in April.
The AIM-traded firm said a field camp had now been established at the project to provide a base for field operations for 14 on-site staff, who were conducting or supporting field activities.
A total of 248 termite mound samples had been collected to date from the field, with samples being transferred to the operational office from the field to allow sample preparation and analysis.
The company said the termite mound sampling programme was ongoing, with additional samples to be collected during the coming weeks.
Further reports would be provided as and when material developments occur, the board said in its statement.
“After quite a gap in operational activity for the company I am pleased to advise that operations are now underway at Kisinka where we are targeting copper-cobalt mineralisation in a highly prospective region,” said African Battery Metals executive director Paul Johnson.
“I am keen to ensure the market is fully informed as material developments occur in respect of Kisinka and also across our other projects and wider commercial activities.”
