Angus Energy has received notification from Lincolnshire County Council that prior approval has been obtained for the installation of processing facilities at the Saltfleetby 'B' site, it announced on Friday.

The AIM-traded firm had said on 1 May that approval was one of the two required to reconnect the Saltfleetby Gas Field to the National Gas Grid, and recommence production.

A planning application for the pipeline was validated on 4 June.

“We, together with our planning consultants, Aecom, approached this application with great diligence and care, engaging in extensive pre-application consultation with Lincolnshire, to ensure the proposed development was carefully tailored to local requirements and sensitivities,” said managing director George Lucan.

“We are very pleased with this timely result.”

At 0918 BST, shares in Angus Energy were up 5.81% at 0.82p.
