AIM-listed Ascential, a business-to-business media company, launched a fintech event in Asia following events in the US and Copenhagen.

The Money20/20 Asia from 13-15 March 2018 in Sinmgapore is a platform for pan-Asian and global companies to explore the opportunities to grow the Asia Pacific payments and financial services landscape.

The 5th annual Money20/20 US event began on Sunday in Las Vegas, with more than 10,000 attendees, including more than 1,000 chief executives, from over 3,000 companies and 75 countries.

There will also be over 500 speakers including Jack Dorsey of Twitter and Douglas Feagin of Ant Financial Group, the financial services arm of Chinese ecommerce giant Alibaba.

In April the company launched an European edition which had over 3,700 attendees, 420 industry leading speakers and 200 sponsors.

Chief executive Duncan Painter said: "AsiaPac has been identified as the world's largest business-to-business e-commerce market. Add that to the size of the increasingly tech savvy middle class population, it is clear that the time is right for Money20/20 - the world's biggest, boldest and best event covering payments and financial services innovation - to launch in Asia."

Shares in Ascential were up 1.88% top 292.60p at 1541 BST.
