Bango has won an expanded contract with Microsoft to integrate the AIM-listed mobile payments company's technology across all the technology giants Windows 10 devices.

The 110m-plus users of Windows 10, be they using a desktop computer, tablet or smartphone will now be able to buy applications, music, films or games from the Windows Store and, via Bango's direct carrier billing software, charge the cost directly onto their phone bill.

Bango said it was working in collaboration with its raft of mobile operator partners and Microsoft to ensure this payment method would be available as widely as possible, though each network operator's availability will be announced as they are launched from this month onward.

The Cambridge-based company pointed to data it has gathered that shows carrier billing has helped generate between a 3 times and a 10 times increase in appstore conversion rates, making it a "vital enabler of mobile commerce globally".

In September, research commissioned by Bango found approximately 280 carrier billing routes live with app stores, with over 40% running through the Bango platform.

Todd Brix, Microsoft's general manager of the Windows Store, said the addition of carrier billing to Windows 10 presented a new opportunity for app and game developers to reach millions of unbanked or under-banked consumers.

"Bango offers our operator partners a sophisticated platform for launching, managing and growing carrier billing business in the Windows Store."

Shares in Bango skipped almost 6% higher to 110p by 0840 GMT on Tuesday.
