Mobile payments specialist Boku announced the expansion of its services to include local payments for Amazon Prime Video across Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand on Tuesday.

The AIM-traded company said the move would allow consumers in those markets to subscribe to Prime Video using their mobile wallets, leveraging the convenience and accessibility of popular local payment brands.

It said the inclusion of local payment options including DANA, OVO, GoPay, GCash, TrueMoney, Rabbit LINE Pay, PayMaya, and ShopeePay, would open up new opportunities for seamless digital transactions for the more-than-300 million consumers regularly using the brands.

“It is exciting to kick off our Amazon Prime Video relationship by delivering eight of the most popular mobile wallets in the region for Amazon subscribers,” said chief business officer Mark Stannard.

“Having now integrated Amazon into Boku's payment network, they can readily on-board new local payments anywhere Prime Video is available.”

At 1325 BST, shares in Boku were up 0.76% at 132p.
