Bradda Head reports 'promising' results from San Domingo
North America-focussed lithium developer Bradda Head announced on Tuesday that it has received initial, “promising” results of the ‘GPRplus’ geophysical programme at its San Domingo asset in Arizona, and that it had also added to its Central San Domingo claims.
The AIM-traded firm said the initial results from the geophysical programme at San Domingo demonstrated the potential extension of pegmatites at depth in the central and the southwestern sections of the resource.
It noted that the northern block of the resource had not yet been surveyed.
Bradda Head said it had also acquired more claims in its Central San Domingo region, increasing its footprint in the area to around 13 square kilometres, from about eight square kilometres.
The company said it was now planning an “extensive” geological mapping project to build on its current model, and a diamond drill programme for 2022, to investigate the initial positive results.
“We are delighted to have received such promising results from our San Domingo claim block, and are now planning a mapping and drilling programme for 2022 to investigate how deep these pegmatites go,” said chief executive officer Charles FitzRoy.
“This is very exciting for Bradda, as if we identify a viable pegmatite deposit here then we would be able to get an operation into production in a relatively short time frame, as pegmatite mining is very well understood and accounts for well over 50% of world lithium supply currently.”
FitzRoy described San Domingo as a “key asset” in Bradda's portfolio, with the results adding to its geological model and thesis on the area.
“Bradda is now planning a drill programme for 2022 to hopefully add a pegmatite lithium resource.
“We already have a JORC-compliant lithium resource at our 47 square kilometres of sedimentary claims, which we expect to expand on the back of our current and planned drill programmes.”
At 1350 GMT, shares in Bradda Head Lithium were down 0.8% at 7.44p.
