Brave Bison appoints former Google executive Kate Burns to board
Social video company Brave Bison on Friday appointed Kate Burns, a former senior Google and AOL executive, to the board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
The AIM-traded company said Burns has "a wealth of experience" in the advertising and media industry and is currently a venture partner at investment firm Hambro Perks, leading the firm's new media arm.
Claire Hungate, chief executive of Brave Bison, said: "The digital publishing experience Kate has gained through her time in senior leadership roles at global digital giants will prove invaluable as we focus on executing our strategy in order to drive the company towards profitability and leveraging our position as a leading social video company."
Previously she was spent six years in senior positions at Google, where she was the search engine giant’s first employee outside of the US, was chief executive of AOL Europe and served as European general manager at BuzzFeed.
Kate Burns said: "I am so thrilled to be joining Brave Bison at such an exciting time in their strategy. Social video continues to provide both brands and audiences a platform to be entertained and to share great content, and Brave Bison is a leading player in this space."
