Brave Bison, the AIM-listed independent digital media and social video broadcaster, announced the resignation of its chief operating officer (COO), Richard Mansell, due to private family reasons with immediate effect.

Chief executive Ashley MacKenzie said: "we co-founded Base79 together with an unwavering belief in online video, YouTube and wherever the consumer goes the advertiser will follow. Since our return to Brave Bison last year, we have renewed that focus on social video creation. I entirely respect Richard's decision, and am delighted that he will continue working with Brave Bison on various projects as a consultant."

Mansell said: "Having been a part of this story from the very origins of Base79 in 2007, it has been a privilege to see our business and vision attract such great talent within the industry as we seek to grow audiences and resultant revenues for all. I firmly believe Brave Bison's successes will continue, as the business moves up the value chain in the social video space and progresses on its path to profitability."

The share price fell 2.21% to 4.77p at 1514 BST on Monday.
