Breedon confirms talks with Belfast-based Lagan

AIM-listed construction materials group Breedon confirmed on Monday that it is in talks with Belfast-based Lagan.

Responding to recent press speculation, the company said it is in discussions with Lagan and its major shareholders about a possible acquisition of "a substantial part" of the business.

"There can be no certainty that the possible acquisition will proceed, nor as to the terms of the possible acquisition," it said, adding that a further announcement will be made as appropriate.

At 1010 GMT, the shares were up 0.4% to 76.80p.
