Cenkos Securities CEO Durkin to retire

Jim Durkin, the chief executive officer of broker Cenkos Securities, has informed the company that he plans to retire.

A date for his departure has not been set and he has agreed to remain in the role to ensure a smooth handover until a successor has been appointed.

Cenkos said it will begin the search for a successor immediately and update the market in due course.

Chairman Gerry Aherne said: "The board would like to thank Jim for all his hard work and the contribution that he has made to the development of the business over the past twelve years and in particular the last five years as chief executive officer. We thank him for his commitment and are grateful for all that he has done."

At 1047 BST, the shares were down 3.4% to 112.50p.
