Value-added logistics solutions and e-fulfilment provider Clipper Logistics announced on Wednesday that it signed a new eight-year contract with Halfords to provide additional warehouse fulfilment and ancillary services from its distribution centre at Danes Way, Daventry.
The London-listed firm said the Daventry distribution centre had been developed as a multi-user facility over the last few months and provided more than 325,000 square feet of capacity.
Halfords would be the anchor customer at the site, its board confirmed.
“Clipper began its relationship with Halfords last year,” commented executive chairman Steve Parkin.
“I am delighted that we have been able to demonstrate our ability to act proactively as a team and to develop solutions which will make a real difference to the Halfords business.
“Our relationship with Halfords represents a true partnership which we anticipate will continue to evolve.”
Parkin said the company was very pleased to have finalised the long-term contract, to enable the company to support its operations in the UK.
Richard Street, infrastructure director at Halfords, said his company was also “delighted” with the partnership to date which had enabled it to consolidate all of its external storage and enhance pre-retail services.
“Working with Clipper will enable us to improve the service we offer customers both in shops and online.
“Our two other distribution centres remain unaffected by this change.”
