Technology firm Cohort has won a four-year, £9.9m contact from the Ministry of Defence to supply and support hearing protection systems and communication ancillaries for land, maritime and air applications.

The contract includes options for a one-year extension and a mid-life enhancement of the technology, which was developed in partnership with Invisio Communications, a Danish audio technology firm.

This contract builds on the AIM-listed company’s previous contracts with the MoD for hearing protection won in 2015.

Cohort chief executive Andy Thomis said: "We are delighted to be providing a system that has such a significant impact on both operational effectiveness and the long term health of our armed forces personnel. This and other recent contract awards enhance the visibility of future group revenue".

Shares in Cohort were down 1.38% to 430p at 0935 GMT.
