Corero Network Security on Tuesday announced three customer orders totalling $1.6m, including its largest ever DDoS Protection as a Service (DDPaaS) order.

The DDPaaS order is a three-year agreement for the network security company to deliver SmartWall DDoS appliances for an unnamed US service provider's 100Gbps infrastructure, enabling it to provide DDoS protected services to its customers.

The AIM-traded company also won an expansion order for SmartWall 10Gbps solutions from an existing SaaS customer and a support and SecureWatch security services contract renewal for a hosting provider customer.

SmartWall is intended to automatically eliminate DDoS attacks, while SecureWatch works in tandem with SmartWall to ensure security software is up to date and running at peak performance.

Ashley Stephenson, chief executive of Corero, said: "We are delighted to have made a positive start to 2019. These significant customer orders further demonstrate the continued demand for our SmartWall appliance product, a growing demand for our subscription-based DDoS Protection offering and ongoing repeat demand for our highly rated Support and SecureWatch services."

Corero Network Security's shares were up 2.70% at 9.50p at 1229 GMT.
