CVS chair Richard Connell resigns due to ill health

Veterinary group CVS said on Friday that chair Richard Connell has decided to resign with immediate effect due to ill health.

Senior independent director Deborah Kemp will assume the role of chair on an interim basis while the board kicks off the process to appoint a permanent successor.

Chief executive Richard Fairman said: "On behalf of the board and colleagues at CVS, I would like to thank Richard for his significant contribution during his tenure as chair and for his support to me personally.

"Richard has played a pivotal role in overseeing considerable growth in the group over the past 16 years and will be sorely missed. We wish Richard a full and speedy recovery."
