Delivery solutions provider DX Group has continued the expansion of its network with the opening of a new depot in Glasgow.

DX said its new 20,000 square foot depot, located at Gartcosh Industrial Park, would serve its express division, which specialises in secure, next-day parcel delivery.

The AIM-listed group said the move provided both of its divisions with dedicated facilities and also allowed it to increase capacity and service levels for "the important central belt of Scotland".

DX, which noted the opening marked a further step in its ongoing £10.0m capital expenditure programme, added that it sees "significant growth opportunities" for both DX Freight and DX Express and was looking to expand market share through a focus on driving strong customer service.

Chief executive Lloyd Dunn said: "We are pleased to be opening this new depot in Glasgow, which marks another sign of our ambitions for the business.

"This new site allows us to increase capacity and enhance service levels, and shows our confidence in the growth potential of the business across the important central belt of Scotland."

As of 0930 GMT, DX Group shares were up 1.50% at 30.45p.
