Delivery company DX has launched a new centre in Ipswich, it announced on Monday, as part of its plans to grow its express delivery services in East Anglia.

The AIM-traded firm said the new operating centre in Claydon Industrial Park replaced its smaller existing location, and would operate a range of secure, tracked and express delivery services for documents, pouches and parcels for both B2B and B2C customers.

It said the move to larger premises increased the express division's collection and delivery capability in the region, and would improve its service to both existing and new customers across a range of sectors, including pharmacy, medical, optical and online retail.

“We are delighted to be opening a new, expanded operating centre in Ipswich,” said DX Express managing director Martin Illidge.

“It will enable us to improve our secure, tracked and express services for existing customers in the area and provides us with a platform for further growth.

“Our facilities management and operational team members have done a great job in completing the move to larger premises while observing the necessary health and safety requirements, which are even more of a priority for us all currently.”

At 1423 BST, shares in DX Group were up 5.56% at 13.2p.
