Back-office software company EG Solutions has won its first mobile and multilingual contract with a retail energy company, worth £1.3m.

The AIM-listed company will implement its EG operational intelligence software and EG mobile product across 500 back office, call centres and sales staff in Europe in a bid to improve end-to-end customer service, optimise resources, and ensure regulatory compliance.

There is potential to expand to other companies within the energy supplier's group.

The deal is expected to start immediately and about £250,000 of the £1.3m will be recognised in the current financial year.

Elizabeth Gooch, EG chief executive, said the deal will utilise the capabilities of EG operational intelligence in multiple territories and languages, while its recently launched EG mobile software will provide dashboards, alerts and notifications for operational managers on the move, providing true insight into the full customer service process.

The company said that the contract win is line with its strategy to increase its UK and global presence as a supplier of back office optimisation software.

Shares in EG Solutions were up 5.88% to 45p at 0800 GMT.
