Emis CEO to retire next year

Emis Group, an AIM listed healthcare software and services provider, announced that its chief executive Chris Spencer has decided to go into retirement by the end of 2017.

The company has begun a formal search to find a suitable replacement.

Spencer has served as CEO from 2013 but has been with the group since 1999 as chief administrative officer, group counsel and company secretary.

Chairman Mike O’Leary said: "Chris has given outstanding service to EMIS for over seventeen years, including as Chief Executive since 2013, and we respect his decision to put a timeframe around his well-earned retirement, while ensuring a smooth handover and allowing the Board ample time to find a successor of the highest calibre."

The share price was flat at 930.50p at 1147 GMT on Monday.
