Forbidden Technologies announced further developments to its Forscene video cloud platformon Wednesday, as it added two new apps to its camera-to-screen video management cloud solution.

The AIM-traded firm said together, the apps improve the usability and efficiency of the Forscene platform, broadening its appeal in the market.

Forbidden claims it already has one of the most comprehensive software-as-a-service platforms for rapidly generating clipping and highlights packages for sports and news, which is also used with reality television and factual programming for efficient remote logging and non-linear editing.

The first app, 'Virtual Ingest', is designed to ease the uploading of video content into the Forscene cloud, reducing the need for dedicated hardware.

The app allows users to create virtual ingest servers on any standard Mac or PC, allowing customers to upload media to the Forscene cloud from any location with a connection speed of at least 1.5Mb/s connection - the equivalent of 3G mobile data.

Forbidden said the second app, 'Review', is designed for producers and executive directors.

Through 'Review', editors can send their edits to a designated reviewer, who receives a notification on their iPhone or iPad and is able to view the content and add timecode comments.

The comments will then appear back in the Forscene Editing interface at the exact point the comment was made.

“This is an exciting time for Forscene,” said Forbidden Technologies CEO Aziz Musa.

“The 'Virtual Ingest' app reduces the startup cost of using Forscene, allowing us to both address new market segments and offer trials to prospects in a fraction of the time previously possible.

“The 'Review' app gives a key decision-maker, executive producers, a dedicated experience tailored to their needs, whilst significantly reducing the time from edit to approval.”
