Greatland Gold revealed the outcomes of its recent surface sampling efforts conducted across its Panorama East, Panorama, and Panorama North tenure on Thursday.

The AIM-traded firm said the Panorama project, situated 200 kilometres southeast of Port Hedland in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, held promise for Archean gold and nickel exploration.

It said the comprehensive soil and rock chip sampling programme was designed to build on previous surface sample findings and assess conductive anomalies identified through an airborne electromagnetic survey.

One notable result from the programme was the identification of 27 soil samples from the Ni_04 prospect, all exhibiting nickel concentrations surpassing 0.1% over an expansive 1.4-kilometre stretch.

Furthermore, a rock chip sample yielded a peak nickel concentration of 0.3%.

Significantly, the nickel-rich zones were situated within the Dalton Suite ultramafics, affirming their status as potential primary nickel sulphide host areas.

The detection of an 800-metre coherent nickel anomaly with a concentration exceeding 0.18% was of particular significance.

That anomaly added to the growing body of evidence supporting the presence of substantial nickel deposits within the project area.

Moreover, Greatland highlighted that numerous unexplored and highly promising conductive anomalies remained within the 14-kilometre expanse of unsampled Dalton Suite, suggesting the potential for further significant discoveries in the region.

“Our recent surface sampling at Panorama has delivered a strongly positive result for nickel prospectivity,” said managing director Shaun Day.

“The large extent of the prospective Dalton Suite ultramafics within our tenure and the existence of coincident untested conductors gives us confidence in the potential for a substantial nickel discovery at Panorama.

“We are now planning our next steps to effectively test both the geochemical and geophysical anomalies on the tenure.”

At 1148 GMT, shares in Greatland Gold were up 2.02% at 11.12p.
