AIM-listed fertiliser development company Harvest Minerals announced on Tuesday that its direct application natural fertilisation and remineralisation product, KPfértil, had yielded positive results from an ongoing series of agronomic test work.

Harvest said KPfértil, a completely natural, slow release, single product fertiliser, was as effective as traditional fertilisers in supplying potassium and phosphate to plants after the 180 day long tests to both juvenile and mature coffee plants.

Further tests were said to be conducted to study the long-term benefits of the product.

The company's executive chairman, Brian McMaster, said the test results indicated that Harvest's, "100% organic product acts as efficiently as imported KCl, a conventional source of potassium, represent a significant outcome for Harvest. We expect further results from these tests over the coming months, but our focus is now on registering KPfértil with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply ('MAPA') and achieving our first sales."

As of 0840 BST, shares had advanced 4.10% to 10.80p.
