Haydale Graphene Industries’ shares soared on Monday after the company signed an exclusive licence agreement with Thai outfit TKS Siampress Management.

The agreement will see TKS gain access to Haydale’s anti-counterfeiting technology for three years and three months to use in commercial applications on an exclusive basis in Thailand and one other territory that has yet to be decided by the parties.

In return, TKS will pay an upfront license fee, payable in three tranches within 120 days of the agreement, and a research service fee due in two tranches within 45 days for the provision of a speciality capacitance ink.

Ray Gibbs, president of business development at Haydale, said: "The printing facilities and commercial position of TKS is first class. They are a quality outfit and the license is absolute demonstration that TKS see our patented product as leading the field with significant unique selling points."

Gibbs added that TKS is the first of many licenses that the AIM traded company is looking at in the anti-counterfeiting market.

Somkid Vekinwattanasate, managing director at TKS, said: "We are really excited to work with Haydale and use their speciality graphene based anti-counterfeiting technology that leads the field. We see a strong commercial arrangement as key to sales success specifically in Thailand, together with a highly consistent product."

Haydale’s shares were up 25.00% at 18.75p at 1554 GMT.
