North Sea focussed natural resources outfit Hurricane Energy has seen further delays to its planned early production system, located to the West of the Shetland Isles.

The AIM-listed firm told investors on Monday that its buoy hook-up operations had been put on hold after its previous attempts to engage the latches in the turret in order to lock the buoy into position had seen the pull-in rope fail.

Hurricane, which saw its hook-up efforts thwarted by a stuck rope in January, noted that there were no injuries to personnel or damage to the Aoka Mizu vessel after a survey of the buoy by a remotely operated underwater vehicle was able to confirm that it had returned to its starting position.

Looking forward, the Aoka Mizu will return to Cromarty Firth to await delivery of a new pull-in rope.

As of 1300 GMT, Hurricane shares had dropped 5.83% to 46.92p.
