Medical diagnostics company Omega Diagnostics announced an update on its discussions with Immunodiagnostic Systems Holdings on Friday.

The AIM-traded company said, further to the interims results announcement in November 2016, IDS has confirmed that its preferred course of action is to pursue an enlarged distribution relationship with the company.

“Currently, IDS has contractual rights to be appointed as the company's exclusive distributor in territories comprising the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Nordic countries and the United States of America,” Omega’s board confirmed.

“The ongoing discussions will therefore focus on how Omega can attain a more global reach for its Allersys range of allergy tests in a structure that benefits both organisations.”

Currently, the company has 41 CE-Marked allergy tests which can be run on the IDS iSYS automated instrument, it said.

The board promised to provide a further update in due course.
