Inspiration Healthcare announces arrival of first ventilator consignment
Medical technology company Inspiration Healthcare Group announced on Friday that the first of its consignments of ventilators had now arrived in the UK, and would shortly be shipped to a holding and distribution facility being managed by the Ministry of Defence.
The AIM-traded firm said that in recent days, it also extended its 24-hour helpline facility to give clinical staff at all UK hospitals access to qualified personnel who are able to give instructions on setting up of ventilators correctly, and also to deal with any other issues which could arise during their use.
It said the service was now being offered to all ventilators supplied to the NHS through the UK government's ventilator challenge.
“We are thrilled to get the first consignment of ventilators into the UK from our supplier,” said chief executive officer Neil Campbell.
“It has been a considerable challenge and at times uncertain due to the unprecedented world demand and the fragility of the whole supply chain.”
Campbell said the company would now quickly make sure they reached their final destinations, so that they could be put to use in the NHS amid the ongoing Covid-19 coronavirus crisis.
“We are also pleased to have extended the Inspiration Healthcare 24-hour helpline which will give clinicians access to immediate information to ensure the ventilators can operate as effectively as possible.”
At 1628 BST, shares in Inspiration Healthcare were up 2.37% at 61.42p.
