Medical technology company Inspiration Healthcare announced on Thursday that SLE, the specialist neonatal ventilator manufacturer it acquired in July, has received regulatory approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) to sell the enhanced version of the ‘SLE6000’ in China.

The AIM-traded firm said the approval was for the “top-of-the-range” SLE6000 model, which includes a number of features such as enhanced high frequency oscillatory ventilation, the ‘OxyGenie’ patented oxygen control algorithm, volume-targeted ventilation, end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring, and greater non-invasive modes.

SLE had received an immediate order from its distributor in China worth around £0.25m, the company said, for delivery during May.

“We are delighted that SLE has received approval for the SLE6000 in what is potentially one of our largest markets and also to announce that we have hit the ground running with a large order for immediate delivery,” said chief executive officer Neil Campbell.

“China represents a significant growth opportunity for the group and we look forward to working with our partners and distributors to achieve our full potential there and in promoting our products and technology to achieve continued growth in the future.”

At 1429 BST, shares in Inspiration Healthcare Group were up 3.7% at 119.25p.
