Mobile marketing and digital entertainment solutions provider InternetQ strongly refuted allegations made in a blog post that called into question the company’s business model.

In a statement on Thursday, it noted: “The company confirms there has been no material change to the operational and financial performance or outlook for the business as set out in the Q3 trading update and that trading remains in line with management expectations.”

The statement followed a blog post from website ShareProphets. InternetQ said that while it does not normally comment on such matters, given the factual inaccuracies in the post, it has taken the decision to strongly refute the assertions made and the conclusions drawn.

The group, whose shares more than halved on Thursday, added that it had not been contacted by the author in advance of publication.

At 1427 GMT, shares were down 54% to 61.65p.
