Information systems and transport technical services company Journeo has received new purchase orders for the supply of its advanced public transport information systems, it announced on Wednesday.

The AIM-traded firm said the purchase orders, worth £1.1m in total, included the supply of its latest double-sided solar powered display systems.

Around £0.7m was expected to be delivered in the current financial year.

“We have been investing in renewable energy powered technologies for some time now and we are delighted that the orders being announced today, include a number of our latest low energy solar-powered systems.” said chief executive officer Russ Singleton.

“We have had an encouraging start to FY21, following announcements made in January, with a strong and growing pipeline of sales opportunities for the company's technologies, software, and services.”

Singleton said the Department for Transport’s announcement of the first national bus strategy for England on 15 March was a “significant” market driver.

“The enhanced partnerships envisaged by the bus strategy announcement will forge a closer relationship between local authorities and fleet operators, aligning with our core capabilities in each customer segment.”

At 1341 GMT, shares in Journeo were up 9.09% at 108p.
