Jubilee begins platinum production at Hernic operations

AIM-listed mine-to-metals company Jubilee Platinum has begun production of platinum concentrate at its Hernic operations in South Africa.

Commissioning and ramp-up of the fully integrated chrome and platinum Hernic operation in March and the ramp-up of the operation remains on schedule, with the commencement of the first platinum concentrate production.

Jubilee said "the first platinum production is a significant milestone for the company and confirms its strategy to become a significant player in the platinum industry".

Further details of the projects and performance will be included in the group's unaudited interim results for the six months to the end of December, which are due before the end of March.

At 1525 BST, the shares were up 7.8% to 5.55p.
