Phosphate explorer and developer Kropz updated the market on the Elandsfontein water situation on Wednesday, placing a moratorium on any further comment.

The AIM-traded firm had announced on 24 October that there was an additional delay to the proposed hearing date, after the appeal against the valid integrated water use licence at its Elandsfontein Phosphate Project was originally set to begin on Wednesday.

“The company would like to advise the market that, in order to allow the tribunal the appropriate opportunity to fully review the matter, it will not be providing further comment on the official proceedings until the Water Tribunal has announced its decision,” the Kropz board said in its statement.

“The timing of the decision is currently unknown.”

Kropz said that, pending the tribunal's decision, there was no legal impediment to the continuation of the water use activities authorised in the integrated WUL.
