Lighthouse agrees new contract with The Social Workers Union

AIM-listed Lighthouse has agreed a new 18-month contract to be the preferred provider of financial advice to members of The Social Workers Union.

Lighthouse will give advice on savings, investments, pensions and protection, plus mortgages.

The company said the new contract further extends a growing list of affinity partnerships, which includes major employee organisations such as UNISON, Unite, BA Clubs, Prospect, The Fire Brigades Union and the Royal College of Nursing.

Chief executive officer Malcom Streatfield said: "We are very pleased to have secured this partnership with The Social Workers Union. We very much look forward to developing our relationship over the coming months and working closely with The Social Workers Union membership to help them address their financial planning needs. The board remains committed to increasing our affinity partnerships throughout the UK."

John McGown, general secretary at the Social Workers Union, said: "We are delighted to have secured this contract with Lighthouse, as this will allow our members access to financial planning assistance on a national basis and across a broad range of financial topics, helping them to make the most of financial planning opportunities."

At 0945 BST, the shares were up 5% to 19p.
