Lionsgold granted government permission for Pilot Plant Testing in Finland

Lionsgold's joint venture company, Kalevala Gold Oy, was granted government approval to carry out testing on gold ore from the Finland-based Kuikka project, to assist in the optimisation of the pilot plant recovery, Lionsgold confirmed on Tuesday.

According to the gold operator, and further to the announcement dated 5 October, Kalevala, the bearer of the Kuikka gold deposit received authorisation from the Finnish government for an "initial 200 tonne test ore sample from Kuikka", due to be carried out in November.

These samples, according to Lionsgold, were expected to aid in the pilot plant recovery as well as operating procedures for the 5,000 tonne bulk sampling programme which was planned but still subjected to government approval.
