Cafe, bar and restaurant operator Loungers announced the appointment of Lucy Knowles as the new managing director of its Cosy Club brand on Friday.

The AIM-traded firm said Knowles, previously the managing director of London-based bar chain Corney & Barrow, later transitioned to catering giant SSP, serving as its group marketing director.

During her tenure at SSP, she was said to have been instrumental in pioneering brand and menu innovations for more than 150 brands.

Additionally, she was credited with the inception of several global brand concepts that had since gained traction in the industry.

Lucy Knowles was set to start in her new role with Loungers in September.

“I am delighted to welcome Lucy to the Loungers team,” said chief executive officer Nick Collins.

“Lucy's impressive operational and leadership expertise alongside her wealth of experience in branding, food and concept evolution, will bring a huge amount of value to our team.

“Cosy Club is well placed as we continue to open new sites and out-perform the market, and I am excited for the future of the brand under Lucy's leadership.”

Loungers operates 235 sites across the UK, including 197 Lounges, 35 Cosy Clubs and three Brightside restaurants.
