Market Tech, an owner of property assets in North London, has handed over Hawley Infants School, which was the first phase of a development, to the London Borough of Camden.
The school was the first phase of the development of Hawley Wharf, while the company said that progress on the rest of the development is on schedule and on budget, with the first retail and leisure units to be completed in the final quarter of 2017.
Property director Mark Alper said the opening of the school “significant milestone” for the company as it underlined its commitment to the local community.
Hawley Infants School, with 210 student places, was designed around a central courtyard and is housed in energy efficient building alongside Hawley Wharf's new living, retail and leisure site.
The school has rooftop terraces, a hard play space, a multi-games area, a landscaped garden and each classroom has its own outdoor zone.
Shares in Market Tech were up 0.36% to 138.50p at 1203 GMT.
