Medaphor launches new ultrasound simulator

Medaphor Group, provider of advanced ultrasound education solutions, released a new ultrasound skills examination simulator called ScanExaminer on Thursday.

The simulator is designed for hospitals and examination bodies to test medical professionals' ultrasound skills.

According to the firm it removes all training aids and functions to offer examiners a library of pathologies and normal patient scans combined with a realistic, virtual reality based scanning experience.

“The system's unique combination of real feel probe manipulation in all scanning planes and ultrasound sweeps based on real patient scans enables hospitals and external examination bodies to truly test a physician's ultrasound image interpretation and probe manipulation skill” said the AIM-listed company.

The share price fell 1.13% to 42.02p at 0934 BST on Thursday.
