Video editing platform developer Blackbird has signed a deal with esports group VENN to provide it with its remote video production services.

Blackbird's contract with VENN, a new TV network aimed at gaming, pop culture and esports audiences, will last for three years and see the group deploy its "ultra-fast and efficient remote video production".

VENN's production team will use the AIM-listed group's software remotely to frame-accurately edit, enrich and publish a wide variety of video content with an ultra-fast turnaround.

The deal was brokered by Blackbird's new US systems integrator partner, ASG.

Chief executive Ian McDonough said: "The VENN project is incredibly exciting and is a classic greenfield site where there is no legacy hardware-based incumbent and the team are free to select our state-of-the-art cloud-based solution.

"This fresh thinking makes production teams as efficient and sustainable as possible whilst being free to work from anywhere."

As of 0920 BST, Blackbird shares were up 6.24% at 15.94p.
