One Media Group, a digital media content provider, has bought the exclusive rights and ownership of the music catalogue from Owl Records for €21,000 (£17872.58).

The Owl Music catalogue comprises of over 1100 Irish folk and Celtic music original recordings. One Media have marketed the tracks over the last eight years on a royalty sharing basis.

Owl Records, established in 1997, has developed a catalogue of over 90 albums of mainly Celtic folk as well as traditional and new age genres. All of the company’s six Mystical Ireland albums reached gold or platinum status in Ireland. The firm’s founder and director Reg Keating is also one of the artists in the portfolio.

The chairman and chief executive of One Media Michael Infante said: "I have known Reg for over 10 years as a licensor to the group and the catalogue has always been our 'corner stone' of Irish music. As Reg now retires and One Media takes full control of the catalogue, we look forward to continuing the exploitation and further developing the marketing of his music."

Shares of One Media were down 2.86% to 3.40p at 1249 BST on Wednesday.
