Digital point of sale provider OneView Group has started a project with the Australian Postal Corporation, it announced on Tuesday.

The AIM-traded company said that under the contract, OneView would produce a proof-of-concept of a sales and service platform for the federally-owned Australia Post.

It said that, with large teams engaged in both Melbourne and Boston, the proof-of-concept will run to 31 March, at which point OneView's solution would be evaluated as the new point of sale solution to anchor Australia Post's transformation to support the digital economy.

The board said the project was part of the corporations aim to “re-invent” the existing store experience to support its more-than-4,000 post office outlets.

“We have been engaged in a vendor evaluation process with Australia Post for over 12 months, and are delighted to have been selected for this sole source contract,” said OneView CEO Stuart Mitchell.

“We believe our digital store platform is uniquely suited to meet Australia Post's needs and look forward to the successful completion of the proof-of-concept process.

“If selected we anticipate this will be a multi-year project.”
