Orosur Mining expects 2,000 ounce deferral as production halted for repairs
Canadian gold production and exploration firm Orosur Mining was expecting a deferral of approximately 2,000 ounces from the second quarter production at its San Gregorio West (SGW) mine complex in Uraguay as production was delayed due to essential repairs.
Repair work to machinery previously damaged at the site was "well underway" and the affected drill rigs had been tapped to return to full productivity "by the end of November", with the company having already resumed underground production.
Orosur also said that development had continued as planned at the SGW underground site and that mill feed had been partially supplemented by open pit ore and low-grade stockpiles which had caused lower head grades than planned.
As of 1200 GMT, shares had dropped 6.90% to 13.50p.
