Paul Rawson joining Yu Group as new finance chief
Independent corporate gas and electricity supplier Yu Group announced the appointment of Paul Rawson as its new chief financial officer on Wednesday, with effect from 3 September.
The AIM-traded firm said Rawson has a degree in accountancy, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) with a history in financial and commercial management in high growth businesses.
In 2001, after spending five years in accountancy and tax advisory roles, he left KPMG to join the energy industry in what is now the Engie Group, where it said he held “various” senior financial and general management positions.
Whilst at Engie, Rawson was financial director responsible for developing and implementing new management information reports to include financial and non-financial KPI's.
He also led the financial and commercial aspects of a £100m investment project to supply energy across the London Olympic Park, and concluded a number of energy related M&A transactions.
Paul was latterly responsible, as divisional CEO, for energy solutions spanning the retail supply of gas and power to businesses, the provision of low carbon generation, energy software-as-a-service and smart building technologies, and the launch of a domestic energy retail offer.
“I am delighted that Paul will be joining Yü Group as CFO and look forward to working with him managing and accelerating the company's rapid growth,” said CEO Bobby Kalar.
“Paul's financial and sector experience, together with his operational skill sets, will prove immensely beneficial to the Group as it continues to pursue its growth agenda.”
