PetroTal announces senior leadership changes

PetroTal announced updates to its leadership team on Wednesday, with Camilo McAllister appointed as its new executive vice-president and chief financial officer.

The AIM-traded firm said McAllister had more than 25 years of experience in the international energy sector, and would brings a wealth of strategic insight gained from his tenure at companies including BP, Ecopetrol, Frontera Energy and Constellation.

His last role was group CFO at Constellation.

Based in Houston with periodic visits to Lima, PetroTal said McAllister would closely engage with its operational and finance teams in-country, ensuring seamless coordination across the organisation.

At the same time, PetroTal said Douglas Urch was retiring as executive vice-president and CFO after serving since November 2019.

Additionally, PetroTal announced the appointment of Emilio T. Acin Daneri as vice-president of business development, effective 1 April.

Daneri was bringing over 30 years of experience from global oil companies, specialising in business development, commercial, and financial executive roles.

PetroTal said his notable contributions included spearheading multiple merger, acquisition, and divestiture transactions across Latin America.

Previously, Daneri served as a senior commercial advisor at CNOOC International and held various positions at Repsol, Madagascar Oil, Pioneer Natural Resources, El Paso Corporation and Santa Fe Energy Resources.

“On behalf of the management team and board, we want to extend a warm welcome to McAllister and Acin Daneri,” said president and chief executive officer Manuel Pablo Zuniga-Pflucker.

“Both have very impressive backgrounds and complement our existing leadership team extremely well, along with enhancing our corporate growth strategy.

“I would like to thank Mr Urch for his outstanding leadership and dedication to PetroTal over the past seven years and extend our best wishes in his retirement and other endeavours.”

At 1148 BST, shares in PetroTal were up 0.95% at 47.95p.
