Public Power Corporation S.A. has paid €144.14m to compensate the owners of 862 properties in the relocation of Pontokomi village, Greece, as it further develops its Ptolemaida power station.

The relocation is deemed necessary for the exploitation of the underlying lignite reserves, which would supply the new Ptolemais V unit at the power station.

On receipt of the funds, residents of the village would be able to relocate to the designated area, which has been prepared by the Kozani Municipality and the Region of Western Macedonia.
