RedstoneConnect, a provider of technology and services for smart buildings and commercial spaces, said its smart infrastructure business, Redstone, had been awarded a five-year managed services contract with an unnamed client valued at £12m.

The competitive tender for one of the "world's largest financial institutions "will see Redstone supporting critical data centre IT services infrastructure for nearly 20,000 UK based staff.

Redstone said it has supported multiple data centre locations throughout the UK for this customer since 2007.

Chief executive Mark Braund said: "We are delighted to be able to announce such a significant contract renewal for Redstone in what remains a highly competitive corporate environment. That this key customer has committed to a further multi-year contract, clearly demonstrates the client's confidence in Redstone and is testament to the service we deliver day in, day out as their trusted partner."
