Ronald Bain confirmed as new CFO at Eland Oil & Gas

Eland Oil & Gas, a production and development company with an initial focus on Nigeria confirmed on Tuesday the appointment of Ronald Bain as its new chief financial officer and as a director of the outfit's board.

As previously announced on 24 July, the appointment was effective from Tuesday, the company said in a statement.

Bain Joined from a financial management and control background having recently led the financial integration planning for the Baker Hughes and GE Oil & Gas merger.

Prior to that, he was the regional accounting director at Baker Hughes for Europe, Africa and Russia with responsibility for all financial reporting, financial management and compliance activities in over 40 countries.

The new finance director also held secretarial and treasury positions with companies such as Baker Hughes, BJ Services, Donside Paper Company and Vetco Gray.

Shares were up 1.53% to 49.75 by 15:16 BST
