Science in Sport confirms patent for WHEY20
Shares in Science in Sport are up almost 3% after it confirmed being granted a patent for its protein gel WHEY20.
The sports nutrition company said the WHEY20, which was launched in January last year, had seen sales ahead of forecasts.
The gel helped athletes maintain muscle mass and could also promote muscle growth. Its unique composition provided a portable, highly concentrated source of whey protein that did not require refrigeration.
"We have a very strong innovation pipeline for 2017 onwards, continuing to work on further innovation to fuel professional athletes and sports enthusiasts," said chief executive Stephen Moon.
At 14:33 BST, shares in AIM-quoted Science in Sport were up 2.91% to 88.5p each.
