Science in Sport scores nutrition deal with USA Cycling

Shares in sports nutrition company Science in Sport received a boost after it finalised a deal to become the official supplier to USA Cycling.

The AIM-listed company said the agreement, which runs to 31 December 2017, will boost its presence in the American market, adding that it could offer significant growth opportunities. No value on the contract was disclosed.

Chief executive Stephen Moon said: "We are making excellent progress increasing brand awareness in the US and this agreement represents one of the strands in our strategy for growing the brand in the US. We are delighted to be making our truly innovative and competition-tested sports nutrition products available to American cyclists."

SIS already supplies its products to professional cycling teams in the UK, including Team Sky and Team Wiggins. It is also the official supplier of sports drinks and nutrition to the Great Britain Rowing team.

Shares in the company rose 12.73% to 62p at 1039 BST.
