Scisys renews long-term service contract with BBC
Scisys has announced the renewal of its contract to supply support and maintenance services for the BBC's enterprise audio broadcast technology.
The AIM-listed supplier of bespoke software systems and IT-based solutions said its media and broadcast division has signed an enhanced service contract to support the BBC for up to 10 years.
The division's dira! media asset management platform is already used by the BBC to deliver its radio news and entertainment. The dira! Product was developed by Scisys specifically for the BBC's requirements.
Scisys said the contract guarantees continued operation of the enterprise audio broadcast technology systems delivered in recent years, cementing a business relationship that began in 2001. The company will continue to improve its dira! product and service to meet emerging requirements in security and rapidly changing technology platforms.
Oliver Giese, head of Business Segment UK & Ireland of the Media & Broadcast division for Scisys, said: "We are delighted to strengthen the relationship with the BBC, which is a flagship for our business. It is a great honour for us to be working with such a globally recognised brand and an acknowledgment of the high quality of the premium dira! product."
