SCISYS was celebrating a multi-million pound contract win on Wednesday, revealing an unnamed major UK broadcaster was selecting its dira! system for radio production and playout.

The AIM-traded supplier of bespoke software and IT solutions said the contract was the next step in implementing dira! as an enterprise-wide radio production and playout system.

Total value of the deal was £2m over a three-year period, the board confirmed.

"For SCISYS and its Media & Broadcast division, this is another major project under the recently renewed framework contract," said CEO Klaud Heidrich.

"I am extremely pleased by the level of commitment that our customer shows, as it migrates its entire local radio systems to SCISYS' innovative virtualised dira! product," he added.

SCISYS' board said the dira! product represented the next generation of cloud-hosted local radio production and playout infrastructure.

It said virtualised studios only required the bare minimum of equipment installed locally to produce and broadcast, with the broader services accessed over the wide-area network and the software and data stored and maintained in centralised datacentres.
